Chantilly Cream

Chantilly is the French name for a rich lightly-flavored whipping cream. This superb shimmering sterling silver flatware set is also called Chantilly, and it is certainly the cream of the crop!

In addition to the eight-piece setting service, still in its wooden chest, there are a variety of stunning serving pieces that are separately priced

These flatware was created by the Gorham Manufacturing Company. Founded in 1831 in Providence, Rhode Island, it remains one of the largest American makers of sterling and silver plate.

Chantilly was designed by William Christmas Codman for Gorham in 1895. The pattern was inspired by 18th-century French Rococo and the delicate handmade laces from Chantilly, France. The design features delicate scrolling and a minute fleur-de-lis at the tip of the handle. The pieces are not monogramed and are in wonderful condition.
